President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the Maldives’ natural resources and strategic geographical location will not be misused by any foreign country.
In an exclusive interview with Ceylon Today, President Muizzu highlighted the Maldives’ significance in international trade and maritime activity, given its position in a crucial region of the Indian Ocean.
He stressed that while no external pressure has been exerted on the Maldives so far, the Government is committed to protecting the country’s sovereignty and independence.
The President reaffirmed that the Maldives will not align itself with any side in regional disputes, and will continue to maintain balanced and peaceful diplomatic relations with all nations. He added that the country remains firmly committed to advocating for regional stability and cooperation.
