The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage has announced a logo design contest to mark the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence, offering a prize of MVR 30,000 to the winning entry.
According to the ministry, the deadline for submitting logo designs is 2:00 p.m. on June 15. The winning logo will be selected by a special panel of judges.
The ministry stated that the logo must reflect Islamic values, the Dhivehi language, Maldivian culture, and heritage. It should incorporate the national colours, with the optional use of blue to represent the Maldivian sea and environment.
The Maldives celebrates its Independence Day on July 26 each year. This year marks six decades since gaining independence in 1965.
