Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has stated that the Maldives’ foreign policy under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is designed to prioritize the country's and its people's interests.
Speaking in an interview with state media, Dr. Minister Khaleel said the Constitution outlines the guiding principles of the nation’s foreign policy, and that all diplomatic efforts are centered on safeguarding national sovereignty and public welfare.
Highlighting the President’s approach, the minister noted that President Muizzu has drawn clear lines to uphold the Maldives’ independence while engaging with international partners. He said these efforts have resulted in stronger diplomatic ties based on mutual respect and recognition of the Maldives’ sovereignty.
