He warned that climate change poses serious threats, including rising ocean temperatures, coral bleaching, and changes in fish migration — all of which carry major economic implications for the Maldives.
President Muizzu outlined key initiatives underway to protect marine ecosystems. These include coral restoration programmes, efforts to reduce plastic pollution, and economic diversification through sustainable practices. He also pledged further investment in marine research, renewable energy, and smarter fisheries.
