President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have returned to the Maldives after completing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

During their visit, the President and First Lady met with Maldivian pilgrims at their accommodation in Makkah, inquired about their well-being, and discussed their pilgrimage experiences.

President Muizzu also met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to strengthen bilateral ties and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Saudi government. He also thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the excellent services provided to pilgrims.

Additionally, Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr. Tawfig F. Al-Rabiah paid a courtesy call on the President. President Muizzu praised the smooth travel experience for Maldivian pilgrims, particularly through the Makkah Route Initiative, and acknowledged the outstanding arrangements made by Saudi authorities.

The President and First Lady were accompanied by senior officials, including Finance Minister Moosa Zameer, Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu, and Chief Imam Sheikh Mohamed Latheef. The delegation was hosted as special guests by the Saudi government.
