More than 45,000 tourists visited the Maldives in the first nine days of June alone, the Ministry of Tourism has revealed.

According to the latest figures, 45,614 tourists arrived in the Maldives during this period, marking a 38 percent increase compared to the 32,996 tourists recorded in the same period last year.

So far this year, the Maldives has welcomed a total of 1,011,972 tourists—up 9.4 percent from the same period last year.

China remains the leading source market for the Maldives, with 121,393 tourist arrivals. This is followed by Russia (111,937), the UK (101,781), Italy (83,142), and Germany (77,012).

Last year, the Maldives recorded 2 million tourist arrivals. The government is now aiming to attract 2.3 million visitors by the end of 2025.
