President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu received the Letters of Credence from six newly appointed non-resident envoys to the Maldives at a formal ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
The envoys presenting their credentials included Her Excellency Stella Nkomo, Non-Resident Ambassador of Zimbabwe; Her Excellency Professor Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, Non-Resident High Commissioner of Uganda; and Her Excellency Aliki Koutsomitopoulou, Non-Resident Ambassador of Greece. They were joined by His Excellency Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Non-Resident Ambassador of Denmark; His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev, Non-Resident Ambassador of Uzbekistan; and His Excellency Ihab Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil, Non-Resident Ambassador of the State of Palestine.
During individual meetings following the ceremony, President Muizzu extended a warm welcome to each envoy and conveyed the Maldives’ interest in enhancing diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation across key sectors, including tourism, education, trade, climate resilience, and economic development.
President Muizzu also expressed hope that the new appointments would further strengthen bilateral relations and foster meaningful partnerships between the Maldives and the respective countries.
