The Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) has issued a public warning after the suspension of several registered colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in Sri Lanka.

Among the suspended institutions are Metropolitan College—where a significant number of Maldivian students are currently enrolled—and all campuses of ESOFT. The MQA has advised students not to enroll in any programs offered by these two institutions at this time.

Students currently studying at these colleges are urged to contact the MQA via email as soon as possible for guidance.

The authority also reminded students to ensure their programs are recognized by the MQA before enrolling abroad. It warned that degrees obtained from non-recognized institutions will not be validated, and the MQA will not be held responsible for any resulting academic or financial losses.
