President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured the residents of N. Lhohi that several key development projects requested by the community will begin soon and be successfully delivered. He announced during his visit to Lhohi this morning, marking the final stop of his tour of the inhabited islands in South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.

Speaking to residents, President Muizzu addressed concerns over the island’s ongoing harbour project and committed to ensuring it meets long-term usability standards based on technical input and community feedback.

He further revealed that national development project agreements are expected to be signed shortly, with physical implementation to follow. Among them, the construction of a new health centre in Lhohi is scheduled to begin before the end of the year.

The President also pledged to resolve school space constraints by beginning construction of a fully equipped school building next year. He highlighted recent progress in sports infrastructure, including the opening of a Fitness and Recreation Centre, an Outdoor Gym, and plans to install floodlights on the football field and build a volleyball court.

In conclusion, President Muizzu announced that road development works and the construction of an international-standard surfing area in Lhohi will begin soon, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the island’s future development.
