Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar has said President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s recent visit to Noonu Atoll reflects his firm commitment to governing according to the wishes of the people.
In a message posted on social media, the minister noted that during the tour, it became clear that government institutions are actively adjusting development projects based on community feedback. He said this demonstrates the President’s focus on decentralizing governance and working in closer partnership with the people.
The minister added that the visit has strengthened the government’s resolve to prioritize public consultation in the planning and implementation of future projects. He expressed confidence that decentralization and community empowerment will continue to expand under President Muizzu’s leadership.
President Muizzu’s tour included meetings with island councils and Women’s Development Committees in all the inhabited islands of Noonu Atoll, where he listened to concerns and discussed local development needs. He returned to Malé today after completing the visit.
