President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the Hulhumalé Dialysis Centre, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing dialysis treatment for patients with kidney disease. The ceremony was held at the Orange Hiya building in Hulhumalé.
The event commenced with a video presentation highlighting the centre's services and features, followed by a guided tour of the facility. Managed by the Malé City Group of Hospitals, the centre is equipped with 30 dialysis beds and aims to ease the burden on patients who previously had to travel abroad for life-sustaining treatment.
The launch of the centre marks a significant step forward in enhancing access to quality healthcare for Maldivians living with chronic kidney conditions.
President Muizzu reiterated that eliminating the need for citizens to seek essential medical care overseas is a top priority of his administration. Currently, healthcare development projects valued at over MVR 400 million are in progress across the country to strengthen the national health system.
