Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, paid a courtesy call today on the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, during his first State Visit to the Maldives since assuming office.

Minister Khaleel warmly welcomed President Dissanayaka and his delegation and reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

President Dissanayaka expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and reiterated Sri Lanka’s commitment to enhancing collaboration across a broad range of sectors with the Maldives.

Minister Khaleel was joined at the meeting by High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka Masood Imad, Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, and Director General Aishath Fareena.
