A symbolic tree-planting ceremony was held today at Sultan Park in Malé as part of His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, 's ongoing state visit.

President Dissanayaka was joined at the ceremony by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, in a display of the strong diplomatic ties and enduring partnership between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.



As part of the Maldives Five Million Trees Planting Programme, President Dissanayaka planted a Tanjong tree (locally known as Moonimaa), symbolizing goodwill and reaffirming the two nations’ shared commitment to environmental sustainability and regional cooperation.
