Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that ordinary members of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) are stepping forward with renewed spirit and determination, reflecting a growing momentum within the party’s base.

Speaking following the party’s “Ran Reendhoo” activity held on Friday, Solih noted that although many challenges remain, the MDP is moving ahead with collective resolve to address the country’s issues. He highlighted that the party has consistently been at the forefront of democratic reforms and will continue to push for positive change to put the nation back on track.

Solih described the growing involvement of grassroots members as a strong sign that the MDP is entering a new phase of political energy and unity.

The remarks come amid the recent return of former MDP President Mohamed Nasheed to the party, accompanied by several former senior leaders. Friday’s rally saw a large turnout, underscoring renewed support for the party across its membership.
