PNC Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah has dismissed claims of division within the party’s parliamentary group, saying its members remain united in support of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

His remarks follow statements by Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas, who alleged that 13 or 14 PNC members were preparing to leave the party for the sake of the country and the people, even at the cost of their seats. Abbas also claimed that during Wednesday’s PNC PG meeting, members criticized government policies, objected to voting on bills without prior consultation, and raised concerns over stalled constituency development.

In a post on X, Falah called such claims false and said it was a mistake to believe the PNC PG could be dissolved through lies. He also alleged that former President Abdulla Yameen had recently paid MVR 3 million to Abbas to spread such propaganda.

Falah further stated that the group would not be swayed by “malicious plans” and criticized Abbas’s remarks as politically unskilled and unethical.
