President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will soon begin practical work on the long-delayed Naagoashi tourism project in South Thiladhunmathi Atoll.
Speaking in Naivaadhoo, the President said the project, stalled for years, now has materials mobilised with support from the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Maldives. He pledged full government backing to develop South Thiladhunmathi into a vibrant tourism destination, noting that lagoons have been allocated for investment with new regulatory flexibilities.
Dr. Muizzu also promised infrastructure upgrades for Naivaadhoo, including completion of the harbour project, a health centre with laboratory services, a new ambulance, road development, a modern football field, and improved power supply with a new generator.
An agreement was also signed with MTCC for Naivaadhoo’s land reclamation and coastal protection project.
