President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to upgrade the Nellaidhoo Health Centre into a 24-hour facility as part of his Administration’s development initiatives for the island. He announced his ongoing tour of South Thiladhunmathi Atoll.

Three major projects were launched in Nellaidhoo today, including the expansion of the health centre, the construction of a fitness and recreation centre, and a new mosque with space for 500 worshippers. The President said additional resources and staffing will be provided this year and next to ensure round-the-clock healthcare.

He highlighted that the fitness centre, set to open this year, will support indoor sports and evening football matches, while the mosque will feature modern facilities such as a library and classrooms.

President Muizzu also pledged further improvements to the island school and announced that the second phase of shore protection works will be included in next year’s budget.

In addition, agreements were signed for 60 housing units, a dinghy platform, and road development projects. A Bank of Maldives ATM was also inaugurated on the island.
