PNC MP Abbas has alleged that members of the party are being treated unfairly by their parliamentary group leader, Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah.
In a post shared recently, Abbas accused Falah of threatening PNC members to support government-proposed bills, including the media bill currently before parliament. Abbas claimed that MPs were pressured with promises of jobs in their constituencies or threatened with negative consequences if they did not vote in favor of certain bills.
He further alleged that some MPs were offered money in exchange for support, with varying amounts given to different members. Abbas also said many PNC MPs are still struggling with unpaid debts from their election campaigns.
According to Abbas, attempts to meet President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu directly were unsuccessful, with discussions mediated through Falah. He also accused Falah of personally offering him a bribe.
While some MPs have privately expressed dissatisfaction and hinted at leaving the party, Falah has denied all allegations.
