President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with President Xi Jinping of China this morning at the Tianjin Yingbin Hotel as part of his official visit to the country.

During the meeting, President Xi welcomed Dr. Muizzu and described the visit as significant for enhancing the longstanding relationship between the two nations. He also reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting the Maldives' development journey.

President Dr. Muizzu expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality and said he was pleased to visit China for the second time in an official capacity.

The two leaders' talks covered a wide range of cooperation, including trade and investment, economic development, security, and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides agreed to strengthen ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership (2024–2028).

The discussions concluded with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing mutual interests.
