Tourist arrivals to the Maldives have increased by 9.2 percent, according to statistics released by the Tourism Ministry.
From August 1 to 27, the highest single-day arrivals were recorded on the 16th, with 7,177 tourists visiting the country. January saw the highest number of monthly arrivals this year, with 214,863 tourists recorded.
February recorded the highest average daily arrivals, with 7,646 tourists per day. The ministry also highlighted that April saw the largest year-on-year growth, with arrivals increasing by 17.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
