President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to the One-China Principle in greetings sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang on the 76th National Day of the People’s Republic of China.
In his letters, President Muizzu conveyed the felicitations of the Government and people of the Maldives, while underlining mutual respect, sovereign equality, and non-interference as key pillars of the Maldives–China partnership. He expressed confidence that recent bilateral talks and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding during his state visit to Beijing had further advanced the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two nations.
Addressing Premier Li Qiang, the President described the anniversary as a milestone of China’s progress and resilience, and reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to fostering deeper political, economic, and cultural ties.
President Muizzu also took to X to highlight the “new heights of reciprocal trust and cooperation” between Malé and Beijing, pledging to strengthen collaboration in the years ahead.
