Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Parliamentary Group Leader and Hithadhoo South MP Ibrahim Nazil has said that the lies made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s government to gain power are now being revealed to the public.
Nazil made the remarks after the Anti-Corruption Commission summoned a former Attorney General for questioning. He said the current administration misled voters to secure victory and that people are now beginning to see through its false promises.
He urged citizens to take to the streets on November 17 to demand accountability, accusing the government of misusing public funds and failing to improve the lives of ordinary Maldivians despite spending MVR 110 billion.
Nazil also called for transparency in public finances, urging the government to disclose details of the 2026 state budget before Parliament's approval so that citizens can properly hold it accountable.
