Addu City Mayor Ali Nizar has assured that there will be no discrimination or deterioration in relations even if Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo separate from the Addu City Council.
Following the recent referendum in which Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo voted to form their own councils while Feydhoo decided to remain under the Addu City Council, Mayor Nizar expressed sadness over the administrative division but said he respects the people’s decision.
He thanked the residents of Feydhoo for their strong and far-sighted decision to remain in the city, describing it as vital for sustaining Addu City’s development and progress.
Mayor Nizar said the separation of Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo should not affect the long-standing friendship and brotherhood among the islands. He urged residents across Addu to continue working together in unity for the city’s development.
