President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to submit an amendment to the Pension Act to the People’s Majlis, aimed at expanding the utilization of the Pension Fund under defined conditions.
Speaking at a meeting with Henveiru residents, the President said the amendment would be submitted during the Majlis’ next session, allowing the Pension Fund to be used for additional purposes while maintaining safeguards.
Responding to public concerns, he stressed that any changes to pension regulations would be carried out responsibly and in the interest of contributors. The President reiterated that key national decisions would continue to be made in consultation with citizens and their representatives.
He assured that public concerns raised during the meeting would be taken into account before implementing the proposed amendments.
