Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has met with the External Affairs Minister of India Dr. S. Jaishankar, today.
During the meeting held at Hyderabad House, Minister Shahid thanked Minister Jaishankar for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, extended to him and his delegation.
Both Ministers also discussed current situation of Covid-19, and vaccination programmes. Minister Shahid thanked the Government of India for the assistance provided to the people of Maldives during the pandemic.
Following the meeting, in a tweet Minister Shahid stated that ongoing projects and cooperation in the multilateral arena were reviewed with Minister Jaishankar.
Before concluding the meeting, Minister Jaishankar assured Minister Shahid of India’s ongoing support for the socio-economic development of the Maldives, including the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
