May 05, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 734 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 540 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 194 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 06 people are positive from operational resorts, and 186 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 32,665 cases, including 7,109 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,787 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 133 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 25,473.

According to HPA, there are 198 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 74 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 299,407 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 119,518 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
