An Indian male who passed away this Wednesday evening has been declared as the 77th death reported from Covid-19 complications in the Maldives.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that the 61-year-old Indian male was isolated at AA Rasdhoo Island, and he passed away at 03:45 pm this evening. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirms that this would be the 77th Covid-19 death from the Maldives.

His death marks the third COVID-19 fatality in the Maldives within less than 24 hours.

HPA had previously informed that earlier today, that an 83-year-old Maldivian male, who was admitted at Lh. Naifaru Hospital has passed away at 12:30 pm. HPA also informed that a 77-year-old Maldivian female, who was being treated to Covid-19 at HMF has passed away early morning at 03:18 am.

With three fatalities reported in one day, Covid-19 related death toll has risen up to 77. In addition, the recent statistics show 32,665 confirmed Covid-19 positive cases across the Maldives.
