May 06, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 703 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 526 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 177 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 07 people are positive from operational resorts, and 167 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 33,368 cases, including 7,607 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,574 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 202 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 25,675.

According to HPA, there are 203 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 77 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 300,189 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 123,581 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
