The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has risen to 119, with 03 fatalities reported this Friday.
As per the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the 119 Covid-19 fatality is a 56-year-old Maldivian male admitted at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. He was declared dead at 03:45 pm.
In addition to this, the 118th Covid-19 fatality is an 80-year-old Maldivian female, who passed away at 10:54 am, and the 117th Covid-19 fatality is a 77-year-old Maldivian male who passed away at 04:06 am. Both patients were admitted to Hulhumale’ Medical Facility.
Maldives reported the first death to Covid-19 on April 29 last year. But this May has seen the highest number of fatalities in the Maldives. As per the statistics, a total of 104 locals and 15 foreigners have passed away from Covid-19 complications.
With a surge in Covid-19 infections in recent weeks, over 67 residential islands outside of the greater Male' region are placed under monitoring. So far, Maldives has recorded 50,802 positive cases and 30,403 recoveries.
