Greater Male' Region Daily Positive Cases drops to zero for the first time since the first Covid-19 case was reported in the Maldives.
As per the statistics released this Monday by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives, there were no Covid cases reported from the Greater Male' Region on Saturday. Although a vast majority of the Maldivian community lives in Greater Male' Region, this is the first time no covid cases were reported in the region.
Meanwhile, the statistics of the week, from Sunday to Saturday showed that a total of 37 people positive cases were reported from the Greater Male' Region. While from the rest of the inhabited islands of the Maldives, 205 positive cases, and from other regions including tourism facilities 46 positive cases were reported throughout the last week.
Maldives has so far recorded 179,171 Covid cases and 298 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
In addition to this, a total of 398,579 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 383,925 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 158,566 people have received the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
