Himmafushi island, Asseyri prison’s, Director of Prison, Mr. Mohamed Shaaheen suspended for corruption.
Suspension of Mr. Mohamed Shaaheen has been confirmed by the media official from Maldives Correctional Service.
Mr. Shaaheen has been accused of corruption involvement in project work of Asseyri prison’s wall and rehabilitation’s infrastructure development. It has been reported of involving a godown work not related to the project. Moreover, he is also accused of working without permission on the land next to the water plant, which is operated through Correctional Services cooperative and a private company.
Due to the corruption accusations towards the government’s PSIP project, an investigation is running along with the suspension case investigation of whoever is involved in this.
