National Centre for the Holy Quran has declared that Aishath Leesh Auraf Farooq, who was representing the Maldives, had gotten into the Top 10 in the International Al-Quran Recital and Memorization Assembly held in Malaysia.

To be eligible to participate in the recital competition, students had an audition from which Aishath Leesh was chosen.

At 15, National Centre for the Holy Quran informed that Leesh was the youngest participant in the competition organized by the government of Malaysia.

The Centre has stated that Leesh getting into the Top 10 was a great achievement as she was competing with very talented reciters from all around the world. The Maldives has participated in this competition for the last two decades and has gotten into both the Top 10 and Top 5, the Centre added.
