Member of Parliament for the Feydhoo constituency, Mohamed Nihad has stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s government will change Addu City.

Speaking yesterday regarding the causeway being built in Hankede by the government, Nihad said that the work is progressing well, and the construction of the bridge will be completed soon as the “Bridge Island” by the dredging company has been completed.

Nihad said that President Solih’s government will take Addu City’s development “to the max” and change the city.

The bridge project is being handled by India’s Afcons Infrastructure, under a credit line from the country’s Exim bank.

Along with the Addu road construction project, the purpose of the bridge is to connect Hithadhoo’s Gauken’di with Maradhoo directly, without having to cross Hankede as it is done on the Link Road.

While the bridge is 1.4 kilometers long, it is being built with four lanes.

The Addu road construction project, which includes the bridge, costs 77.6 million dollars, which is 1.2 billion MVR.
