PPM has denied the allegation of Male' City councilwoman of the Vilimale' constituency Nahula Ali against ex-president Abdulla Yameen that he wants a specific candidate in the PPM-PNC internal elections.

In a statement released by PPM tonight, the party stated that certain people are acting in ways that affect the internal peace and order of the party in the internal elections. The statement also said that people who are unrelated to the party too are trying to interfere with the internal elections and divide the party.

PPM stated that suspended ex-member Nahula Ali has been going door to door and meeting people and speaking at various forums asking members to vote for a specific candidate, lying that the party president Abdulla Yameen supports the candidate too.

PPM has harshly criticized Nahula's actions and stated that she does not have the right to comment on the internal affairs of the opposition coalition. The party asked her to cease this behavior and asked others not to accept such behavior.

The internal elections of the two opposition parties are to be held next Saturday.
