Economic minister Fayyaz Ismail has stated that today's internal elections held by main opposition party PPM are proof that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih does not send police forces to halt political activity.

Commenting on this activity of PPM, Fayyaz welcomed the elections and said that the fact that President Solih did not interfere with it using police is proof of the political freedom here now.
Fayyaz said that five years ago, things were different and the ones who came to get the ballot boxes were the police.
