Ten foreigners has been killed in a major fire incident at a garage at 00:27 last night.
The fire broke out at the M. Nirufehige, which has a vehicle repair garage on the ground floor and a foreign labor quarter above it.
According to MNDF, the out of the first 2 people rescued, one died and one is in critical condition in IGMH. Additionally they have been searching for 9 missing people, out of which 8 people have been found deceased.
MNDF said that the rescue efforts is still being ongoing.
In addition to the MNDF Fire and Rescue, and Maldives Police Service, NDMA and Maldivian Red Crescent has been responding to the fire incident as well.
