The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided assistance to more than 50 people in connection with the fire that broke out last night.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chief Executive Officer Hisaan Hussain said that the NDMA teams has been actively responding to the fire incident. So far, 58 people have been assisted, he said. They are 30 locals and 28 foreigners. Of these, 30 locals belong to four families.

Hisaan said the NDMA is currently working to relocate people to temporary shelters after collecting their informatios. They will be relocated to guesthouses, he said.

Ten foreigners has been killed in the fire incident, and It took two hours to fully control the fire last night.

According to officials the fire broke out in a wooden cell-like structure. There was also a large amount of cooking gas in the area.

An official said many people died in the fire because they were stuck inside and could not escape quickly.
