Addu Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef has stated it is clear to any person who is not biased that the state budget was a budget created to build important infrastructure for the development of Maldives.
Shareef said this in response to the criticism of the state budget projected for next year by some MPs belonging to MDP. Shareef said that the budget was planned in the most appropriate way and that issues in it are seen only by the biased.
Shareef stated that the purpose of the 2023 budget is to continue the infrastructure projects in various areas for the development of the country. And that this will lead to sustainable development and that the nation's industriousness will increase as a result and the economy will get invigorated, which will further improve the life quality of Maldivian families with the added job opportunities.
The Finance Ministry proposed a budget of MVR 42.6 billion. The Budget Committee of the Parliament passed it with an additional MVR 160 million making the total of the 2023 budget MVR 42.8 billion.
