South Henveiru MP "An'dhun" Hussain Shaheem has stated that MDP is not the personal property of two people but an ideology of the people.
Speaking in the debate on the budget in the Parliament, the deputy leader of MDP's parliamentary group, An'dhun Hussain said that the government is being run as MDP wants. And that the development wanted by the people is coming to the islands.
"We are seeing the government being run in a very MDP manner. We spoke of equality and development. We said the island isolation should end. But the sad thing is when the government tries to do these things, it gets criticized in Parliament. That's not MDP," said Hussain.
An'dhun Hussain said that some people act as if MDP is their personal property, but it is a political party run on the state's money and also it is the ideas and thoughts of a lot of people.
"MDP is not a credit card in the pockets of two people. It is the hope of the Maldivian people. A political party runs on the state's money. Not two people's property. Not a household talk. This is a shame. A sad thing," Hussain said.
An'dhun Hussain noted that the incumbent government is bringing development to the islands and that with the budget projected for next year, even the most important things needed by the people today will be provided.
