As announced by the President of the Maldives, the salaries of health sector workers will be increased next year, Presidential Spokesperson Miuvaan Mohammed said.
Replying to a question from RasOnline at a press conference held at the Presidential Office today, Miuvaan said the next priority after increasing the teachers' salaries is to increase the salaries of health sector workers.
Miuvaan added that the financial support to increase the salaries for healthcare workers will be included in next year's budget. The spokesperson said the necessary studies are being conducted to complete the process by next year.
"The salaries of health workers have been budgeted for next year. In addition to the health sector, the salaries of teachers have also been increased as announced by the President earlier," he said.
"It will be arranged within the next year. The preliminary studies are being conducted in preparation for it. Hopefully, the salaries of health workers will be increased within the next year,” Miuvaan said.
