MNP Vice President Sharif has questioned the quality of the bridges being built by India's Afcons Infrastructure Ltd. in Male' and Addu.

Sharif said that some other people have taken a large portion of Afcons' road construction project in Addu City.

Saying the quality of the road construction work is poor, Sharif said that the quality of the bridges being built in Addu and Male' by Afcons is questionable.

While the government has made the decision to carry out many projects in Addu City with India's assistance, previously the President has stated that a total of 107 km of roads would be developed in all the populated islands in Addu.

President Solih has also stated that 236.5 hectares of land will be reclaimed during this term in line with the Addu development plan.

The President has announced that it has been decided that a total of MVR 2.6 billion will be spent on projects in Addu this year.
