Former MDP Chairperson "Reeko" Moosa Manik has stated that the candidate who is defeated in the MDP presidential primary must stand with the one who wins the primary.

MDP's leader President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced that he will contest the MDP presidential primary. And even MDP's president Mohamed Nasheed has announced his candidacy.

Referring to MDP's presidential primary, Moosa said that MDP would contest the presidential election with the candidate who wins the primary. And so the one who will participate in the presidential election will be determined by the votes of MDP members, he said.

“No matter which MDP member loses the primary, he should stand with the winning candidate. A person will decide their future in politics themselves,” said Moosa, who recently joined the party after being away from it for a long time following his prior expulsion.

Moosa, who was the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, rejoined MDP on the 8th of last month. Moosa said he became a legal member of MDP yesterday, referring to his name being included in the MDP register at the Election Commission.

Moosa, who was also the leader of the MDP parliamentary group, said his removal from the party before was something that was planned by a group of conspirators. Moosa has sent his regards to them.

"The moral the world shows is the certainty that before and after the blistering hot afternoon, there are a pleasant golden yellow dawn and evening," said Moosa, who had been the Member of Parliament for Hulhumale' and Hahdhunmathi constituencies.
