In his tweet, President Solih sent his best wishes to fishermen and all those involved in the industry.

The Maldives started celebrating a special day for fishermen in 1981. From 1981 to 2010, Fishermen's Day was celebrated on December 10. And starting from 2010, it had been celebrated on October 16.
The date of Fishermen's Day was shifted back to December 10 in 2013.
