It has been decided that the primary to determine the MDP candidate for next year’s presidential election will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
MDP said in an announcement that party members who wish to contest the primary must complete and submit an application form before 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 24, 2022 with the support of 500 members of the party.
According to the announcement, the final list of candidates, along with candidate numbers, will be announced on December 26. And the Presidential Primary Final Voters List will be released on January 3.
Both President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and former President Mohamed Nasheed have announced that they will contest the primary.
