President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged, former President Nasheed not to lie even for political reasons.

President Solih said this while addressing the campaign rally held at the party's main center (MDP Haruge) tonight.

In his speech, President Solih said that he had worked so far without "reacting" but that he now had to respond to rumors and stories. He said that the truth should be explained to the people.

He said it while referring to addressing the concerning public issues raised during the Covid-19 Pandemic when the opposition and some of the MDP members spread rumors telling the public that the basic goods were running out and that the country was running out of medicines.

"We have spent the last two years hearing these made-up stories... Think about how the virus was controlled in the crisis. Was there a citizen in this country who was left behind and neglected from basic needs?" President Solih said.

President Solih said that it had been challenging to run the government due to some members of the MDP since the first day he came to power. He then urged to stop the attempt to obstruct the government from within the MDP.

"Today I want to tell them to stop it, and let us move forward together to fulfill our promises to serve the people.”
