Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has reassured that the whole MDP is behind President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Speaking at President Solih's campaign rally held at the MDP headquarters last night, Foreign Minister Shahid said that there was only one voice heard wherever he turned his ears today, and that voice is the one calling for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to go forward.
Shahid said that the entire MDP is behind the President and that he will win the 2023 presidential election and be placed in the presidential seat. The Minister said that President Solih is a wise, honest and compassionate person.
"Honorable President, go forward. Honorable President, go forward, MDP is behind you. It has been proven. The people of Maldives will join hands together and put President Solih as President of Maldives again," said Shahid, speaking with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Furthermore, Shahid said that MDP came to power to completely change the mode of government and has achieved that. He said President Yameen's government was a tyrannical government and the Supreme Court and Parliament had been weakened then. He said that President Solih was the most courageous person at that time. Shahid praised President Solih greatly for his efforts and actions in recovering from the pandemic.
