First Lady Fazna Ahmed has stated that last night showed the level of freedom of expression in Maldives.

Last night while President Solih's campaign rally was being held at the MDP headquarters, the opposition PPM/PNC held a rally nearby at Artificial Beach. At the opposition rally, loudspeakers were used to disturb the President's rally. The opposition harshly criticized the government.

Regarding this, First Lady Fazna Ahmed said that last night showed the level of freedom of expression in the country. She also said that the two parties held their ralllies in the same place but no violent clashes occurred, noting that this was a historic moment that made last night's rally special.

"No riots. No use of force to obstruct the opposition rally. No stopping. No one was arrested," said Fazna.

During last night's rally, which was also attended by Madam Fazna, President Solih explained the reasons he should be given the MDP presidential ticket. The President said he would win the primary by a large margin.
