The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has stated that the temporary mosque in Hulhumale' Phase II is being expanded to accommodate 600 people.
The Islamic Ministry said the extension to the second temporary mosque, Masjid Uthman bin Affan, in Hulhumale' Phase II, will be completed by Ramadan in collaboration with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The Ministry informed that, under this project, the mosque will increase its capacity to accommodate 600 people. And that the completion of this work will also increase the space used by women for prayer.
Opened on the 1st of April last year, this mosque is built to accommodate Friday prayers and can accommodate both men and women.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Zahir Ali inspected the work done at the mosque yesterday.
