Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Jumhooree Party leader Qasim Ibrahim have met to have talks regarding this year's presidential election.
JP leader Qasim Ibrahim met with the former President in H. Fulidhoo. While the details of the meeting, which began at 1 pm today, have not been disclosed, "Ras Online" has learned that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the formation of a coalition between JP and Maumoon's Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) for the presidential election.
JP and MRM are two parties in the current coalition government. However, JP has now decided to contest the presidential election separately. The party has now opened their presidential primary.
