Hanimaadhoo MP Abdul Gafoor Moosa stated today that some of the MPs who speak well in the Parliament are corrupt.

Debating a resolution calling for a law to create, dissolve, regulate and monitor state-owned companies, Gafoor said today that things that are wrong should always be seen as wrong. And that today when "our government" comes, it is a problem that things that were wrong before are accepted now.

Gafoor said some of the MPs who speak well in parliament are those who engage in corruption.

"They speak very well, but after that how they abuse their power and influence things and put their hands in places, the people of this country will know," said Gafoor.

Gafoor said he believes there are some things wrong within the government, both past and present. However, when your own government comes, Gafoor said you have to try to fix what is wrong. Gafoor accused some MPs of trying to get their hands in government companies.

"How many Members want to do things through them, find sponsors and take on projects?" Gafoor asked in today's Parliament sitting.

Gafoor said today that the people know that there are corrupt members in the Parliament no matter how good some MPs speak to impress the people. And that the people are now aware of the election-related rhetoric they use.
